What are the steps?

1

Ground School & Written Exam

Ground school is a must for all pilots and is required by the FAA. Here you learn all the technical info and start to build your understanding on all things aviation. Most flight schools require students to have this started or completed prior to taking flight lessons. The written exam has 60 questions and you need to score a 70% or higher to pass.

2

Medical Exam

Next, you’ll want to get your medical exam, which is a standard physical with an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME). With the written and medical exam behind you, it’s time to have fun and fly!

3

Flight Training

It's time to get you up in the air. Now, we connect you with a local flight school to start your flight instruction.

4

Check Ride

Once you’ve completed your ground school & flight training its time to take an oral and flight exam with a designated pilot examiner (DPE). This is called a Check Ride. Preparation for this final piece can take anywhere from 30 days to 6 months.

Certified Pilot
